PRESENTATIONS TO INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH DELEGATIONS:

Hong Kong: Made presentation to Deputy Secretary of the Dept of Health and other Health and Tobacco Control Office Executives about the strategies, and actions of the Los Angeles tobacco control coalition including local and state ordinances for smoke-free workplaces, including bars and restaurants.

Sweden: Made presentation to the Health Minister and Head of the Legal Advisory Office for the Swedish Health Ministry about the advocacy strategies of the American Heart Association and local tobacco control groups to get clean indoor air ordinances passed at the city and county government level.

Ireland: Spoke with the Health Minister and other representatives from the Health Ministry of Ireland about the recent ban on smoking in Pubs and Restaurants throughout their country. Talks focused on fines and penalties for violators by sharing examples of what is done in Los Angeles and California.
